Gabrielle Renard
Gabrielle was born to Essoyes August 1st, 1878. In 1894, to Jean's birth, she is hired like childminder by the Renoir family. She comes with " the Renoirs " when they get to "Collette domain" settled. She gets married to Cagnes-sur-mer May 18, 1921 with Conrad Hensler Slade, painter little famous, descended of a rich American family. One of her witnesses is Jean Renoir, then aged of 25 years. In 1941, during the war, the same year that Jean Renoir, Gabrielle, Conrad and their son get settled to the United States. September 12, 1950, Conrad Slade dies and in 1955, Gabrielle decides to come to live to Beverly-Hills, very near of Jean Renoir. Gabrielle dies out to Beverly Hills February 26, 1959. She is aged of 80 years. Hardly 20 years later, February 12, 1979, disappears Jean Renoir. The son of Gabrielle, John Slade always lives in California. |

of Renoir. During 20 years, she will put in numerous canvases, alone or in company
of Jean for that she will keep affection and tenderness all her life.
